CLEVELAND -- Senior Eric Marbach (Naperville, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) and junior Bor Schweiger Muzar (Crnomelj, Slovenia/Gimnm) of the Northern Illinois University men's tennis team each earned All-Mid-American Conference honors, announced by the league office on Wednesday. Marbach was named to the All-MAC First Team while Muzar claimed All-MAC Second Team recognition. 

Marbach, who was also named to the All-MAC First Team in 2018, won 16 matches during his senior season as NIU, including 10 in dual matches. The Naperville, Ill., native earned eight of his 10 dual match wins playing at number one, where he competed in all but five dual matches this season. Marbach also had a highly successful season in doubles, where he won 21 matches, including 15 dual match wins. Eight of those 15 victories came while paired with sophomore Kristopher Ortega (Homer Glen, Ill./Seton Home Study School) and the duo was twice named MAC Doubles Team of the Week, collecting the honor on January 23 and February 6. 

In four seasons at NIU, Marbach earned 57 singles victories and 64 wins in doubles play. 

Muzar's All-MAC recognition is the first of his career as he finished his junior campaign with 17 wins, including 12 in dual matches. The Crnomelj, Slovenia native saved his best tennis for the end of the season as he won his final four singles matches of the year, including all three matches at the MAC Championships as he was named to the MAC All-Tournament Team. In doubles, Muzar won 13 matches during the 2018-19 season, with nine victories coming in dual matches. All nine dual wins came while paired with freshman David Pata (Bucharest, Romania/Emil Racovita) and the duo earned MAC Doubles Team of the Week recognition on February 27 and April 3. 

NIU finished the season with a 13-12 record and advanced to the MAC Tournament Final for the first time since 2013.
