DeKALB, Ill. – In accordance with Phase 4 in the Restore Illinois plan, Northern Illinois University Athletics will admit 50 fans to its indoor athletics competitions beginning this week.
 
A limited number of family members of NIU men's and women's basketball, volleyball and gymnastics team student-athletes – as well as visiting team families – will be allowed to attend home events in the NIU Convocation Center beginning Thursday, February 11, when the NIU volleyball team plays host to Eastern Michigan in Victor E. Court.
 
Masks and social distancing, including in seating areas, will be required. Currently, no tickets will be available to the general public.
 
NIU and the Department of Athletics continue to operate under guidance from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and in concert with the DeKalb County Health Department.
 
Attendance policies for NIU outdoor sports will be announced at a later date.
