DEKALB, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University gymnastics team will have four regular season home meets and travel on the road for nine meets in 2025 as interim head coach Nita Teague announced the schedule on Thursday, October 31.
Three of the Huskies four home meets will be against Mid-American Conference competition and NIU will see seven teams who competed in the NCAA Championships a year ago.
"We are super excited to be only 71 days away from our 2025 season," Teague said. "We open at Florida and anticipate great energy and a full house. Our athletes are looking forward to competing at home four times this year. This is a fantastic time to be a Huskie, and we are very proud of these women."
Huskie fans will have their first chance to watch the team on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 1 p.m. as NIU will host its annual Red/Black intrasquad meet in the NIU Convocation Center.
All NIU gymnastics meets are free to attend.
The Huskies will open their 2025 season with a quad meet hosted by Florida on Friday, Jan. 10. In addition to 2024 NCAA semifinalist and host Florida, NIU will see NCAA qualifiers Michigan State and Nebraska at the season opener in Gainesville.
NIU will then travel to Ypsilanti, Mich. for a quad meet hosted by Eastern Michigan on Friday, Jan. 17. Ball State and Winona State will join the Huskies and Eagles in the meet.
The first home meet will be at 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24 when the Huskies host Illinois State on senior day. The Huskies will recognize seniors

Ellery Werner at the meet. NIU will then head to Normal, Ill. on Tuesday, Jan. 28 to compete with the Redbirds once again.
As February begins the Huskies will be back in the Convocation Center at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 2 against Eastern Michigan in a MAC dual.
On Friday, February 7, NIU Gymnastics and Wrestling will both be in competition simultaneously in the main arena of the NIU Convocation Center for the popular Beauty and the Beast Meet beginning at 7 p.m. NIU will face Kent State in gymnastics while wrestling plays host to Buffalo.
The Huskies will then take a brief break from conference action as they head to Missouri for a tri-meet at Southeast Missouri State at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14. Winona State will also be in action at that meet.
February will come to a close as the Huskies head to Kalamazoo to take on the reigning MAC Champion Western Michigan Broncos.
In March the Huskies will close out the home schedule versus Bowling Green at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 9. The final home meet will come after the Huskies travel to Muncie, Ind. and compete with the Cardinals of Ball State at 12 p.m. on Sunday, March 2.
Regular season MAC competition will end on Friday, March 14 when NIU takes on Central Michigan at 5 p.m. in Mount Pleasant.
The Huskies will close out the regular season just two days later, on Sunday, March 16 at 1 p.m. versus Illinois in Champaign.
The MAC Championship will be hosted by CMU as the Huskies return to Mount Pleasant, Mich. on March 22.
