Women's Gymnastics | March 6
IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Northern Illinois University gymnastics team competed in a quad meet hosted by Iowa, setting a new team score mark on beam. The Huskies finished fourth in the meet, compiling a team score of 193.300.
Iowa finished first with a score of 196.500, followed by Central Michigan with a final score of 196.025 and Southeast Missouri State placed third with 194.600. The 193.300 from NIU is the third-highest team scoring mark of the season for the Huskies.
Junior
Mikayla Brown (Suwanee, Ga. / Peachtree Ridge) led the Huskies on Friday night, tying for third on beam with a 9.825. Brown also turned in scores of 9.775 on floor and 9.725 on vault. Senior
Samantha Nickle (Yorktown, Va. / York) set a career-high on vault with a 9.750.
Junior
Dawsyn Sallee (Versailles, Ky. / Woodford County High) earned her fifth 9.800 or better on vault, scoring a 9.825 in the Huskies second rotation. Freshman
Makenna Brooks (Kokomo, Ind. / Eastern) finished with a 9.825 on floor and now has back-to-back meets with a 9.825 or better.
Rotation One
NIU started on floor, earning a team score of 48.825. Sallee scored a 9.700 from the leadoff spot and was followed by senior
Jocelyn Harbeck (Frankfort, Ill. / Lincoln-Way East) earning a 9.800.
Nickle posted a 9.725 while Brown recorded a 9.775. Brooks anchored NIU in the routine, tying for eighth with her 9.825.
Rotation Two
Moving to vault, Nickle kicked it off with a 9.750 and three straight 9.725 followed thanks to Brown, Harbeck and sophomore

Sophomore
Drake White (Indianapolis, Ind. / Bishop Chatard) tied a season-high with a 9.800 and Sallee tied for fifth with her 9.825. NIU finished with a team score of 48.825 on vault.

Freshman
Avery Riiff (Frankfort, Ill. / Lincoln Way East) led the Huskies for the fourth time this season on bars, earning a score of 9.700. Sophomore
Maria King (Nashville, Tenn. / Currey Ingram Academy) scored a 9.600, her third straight meet with a 9.600 or higher.
Brenner made her first official career appearance on bars, finishing with a 9.450.
Rotation Four
NIU capped the night by setting a new team score on beam with a 48.400. Junior
Isabella Ross (Cary, N.C. / Green Level) earned a 9.650 from leadoff and Brooks added a 9.700 right after.
Brown anchored the Huskies with a 9.825, her fourth 9.800 or better on beam this season. Nickle added a 9.600 while freshman
Samantha Bartlett (Lowell, Mas. / Lowell) scored a 9.600.
