CLEVELAND, Ohio - Tyra King and Julianna Hill of the Northern Illinois University women's soccer team have earned All-MAC postseason honors as announced by the Mid-American Conference on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Forward Tyra King (Menifee, Calif./Metea Valley) was named to the All-MAC Second Team and defender Julianna Hill (Burlington, Iowa/West Burlington HS) was named to the MAC All-Freshman team.

"I'm thrilled for Tyra, she had a fantastic season for us and is very deserving of the recognition," head coach Michael O'Neill said. "Eight goals in a season as a sophomore is great to see and I'm excited to see Tyra push on again next season."

King's eight goals were good for the sixth-most in the MAC and marked the most for a Huskie since Karen Enockson scored nine in 2006. King also led the Huskies this season with five assists, which is the most for a Huskie since Lauren Gierman in
2017.

King scored two goals in Huskie wins over Southern Indiana (Aug.29) and Eastern Illinois (Sept.8). She also scored against Oakland (Sept. 1), Miami (Sept. 19), Akron (Oct.13) and Ball State (Oct.24). King played in and started all 19 games in 2024.

Hill started all 19 games on the backline for NIU as a freshman.

"Jules made a strong start to her NIU career as a freshman," O'Neill said. "Being such a big piece of the back line in her first year makes me excited to see what she can do next year."

Hill scored one goal, a game-winning header against Kent State (Oct. 10) which ignited a five-game unbeaten streak late in the season. Hill helped the Huskies defense secure five shut outs in 2024.

The 2024 Huskies finished the season 9-5-5, NIU's best record since 2007, in O'Neill's third season at the helm of the program.
