NIU Softball Reveals 2025 Schedule

DeKALB, Ill.—With the 2025 season just around the corner, Northern Illinois University softball head coach Kathryn Gleason is announcing the 2025 schedule for the Huskies.
 
The 2025 season will see first meetings for the Huskies against Central Arkansas and Louisiana.  
 
The Huskies open the 2025 season at the Grand Canyon Tournament, February 6-8. The Huskies will face Grand Canyon in a doubleheader on February 6 before taking on Montana and Wichita State on February 7. NIU concludes their trip to Arizona by taking on Colgate on February 8.
 
NIU travels to Lafayette, Louisiana on February 14-16, taking on Central Arkansas and Louisiana Lafayette on February 14. The Huskies take on Sam Houston and Ole Miss on February 15 before wrapping up action against Central Arkansas.
 
Continuing action on the road, the Huskies travel to Bellarmine for games against Bellarmine and Green Bay with games taking place from February 21-23. The Huskies will conclude early tournament action as they travel to SIU Carbondale, March 8-9 to take on SIU and Wisconsin at the two-day tournament. NIU will meet South Dakota State on March 11 in St. Louis, Missouri, to round out the first half of the season.
 
Mid-American Conference action starts on March 14-15 for the Huskies with Central Michigan visiting Mary M. Bell Field. The Huskies will face defending MAC champions Miami on March 21-22 in Oxford, Ohio.

Returning to the state of Illinois, NIU will face in-state foe Northwestern in a midweek game on March 26 before hosting Ohio in a three-game series March 28-29.
 
April sees the Huskies start on the road as they travel to Ball State for a midweek game on April 1 before returning home for Bowling Green (April 5-6). NIU heads east for a three-game series at Buffalo (April 11-12) before returning home for a non-conference game against Bradley.
 
NIU is set to visit Kent State on April 19-20 before concluding the non-conference portion of the schedule against Illinois in a midweek game on April 23. The Huskies end the home portion of their schedule with Akron (25-26) and Western Michigan (April 29). NIU is set to play the final games of the season at Toledo, May 3-4.
 
The 2025 MAC Tournament is set to take place May 7-10 at Firestone Stadium in Akron, Ohio with the top six teams advancing to the tournament.
