DEKALB, Ill. -- Northern Illinois University women's soccer head coach Michael O'Neill has announced the addition of three transfers to the Huskies 2024 roster. NIU has added forward Kelsi McLaughlin (Greenfield, Ill./Greenfield Central) along with goalkeepers Amy Stineman (San Jose, Calif./Archbishop Mitty) and Ary Purifoy (Machesney Park, Ill./Harlem) to the previously announced signing of seven freshman.

McLaughlin comes to NIU following two seasons at Illinois State. As a sophomore in 2023, she played and started in 14 games while scoring two goals and earning one assist.

"Kelsi is a very dynamic and creative forward that will be a great addition to our program," O'Neill said. "Her speed combined with her front foot approach will allow her to make an instant impact in the MAC. We are delighted to have her join the program."

McLaughlin previously played for Greenfield Central High School where she earned three all-conference selections and played club soccer with Indy Premier.

Stineman is a goalkeeper transferring from Gonzaga, where she spent three seasons. Stineman played in one game in 2023 and didn't allow a goal in a win over Weber State. The Zags won the 2023 West Coast Conference Tournament and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

"Amy is a technical and athletic goalkeeper that excels in the shot stopping department," O'Neill said. "Amy joined the program in January and has since made a fantastic start to her NIU career. We are excited about Amy's potential here as a Huskie."

Stineman played high school at Archbishop Mitty in San Jose, Calif. and played for the San Jose Earthquakes DA team as well as the De Anza Force. Stineman was also named to the National Honors Society three times in high school.

Purifoy is a goalkeeper transferring to NIU following three seasons at Oklahoma State. Over the last two seasons, Purifoy appeared in nine matches for the Cowgirls, making three starts.

"Ary is also another technical goalkeeper that has played at a high level throughout her career," O'Neill said.  "Her technique and understanding of the game are features that will allow her to make an instant impact. We are excited to have Ary join the program this Fall."

Purifoy played at Harlem High School in Machesney Park, Ill. While also playing club soccer with Eclipse Soccer Select.

The Huskies host Western Illinois in an exhibition on Friday, Aug. 9 at the NIU Soccer and Track & Field Complex. NIU opens the regular season at DePaul on Thursday, Aug. 15.
