DEKALB, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University men's basketball team hosts Eastern Michigan on Saturday, Feb. 22, in the second game of a "Cram the Convo" doubleheader. The Huskies and Eagles are scheduled to tip at 3:30 p.m., following the conclusion of the NIU women's basketball game against Eastern Michigan which is slated for 1 p.m.

NIU returns home following a 73-63 setback at first-place Akron on Tuesday (Feb. 18).
Quentin Jones (Chicago, Ill./Marian Catholic) netted a new career-high 28 points against the Zips. Jones leads the Mid-American Conference in scoring at 17.0 points per game and has scored in double figures a team-high 23 times.
The Huskies made nine triples against Akron and have tied the school record with 238 made three-point field goals this season. NIU previously made 238 triples during the 2015-16 campaign.
NIU ranks third in the MAC averaging 9.15 triples per contest, which ranks 56th nationally. In league play, NIU is second in the MAC, making 9.62 threes per game.
Over the last two contests,
Tsvet Sotirov (Rolling Meadows, Ill./Rolling Meadows) is averaging 10.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, shooting 50 percent (7-of-14) from the field and 46.2 percent (6-of-13) from three.
Eastern Michigan brings a 13-13 overall record to DeKalb, including a 6-7 mark in league play. The Eagles have won their last two games, including a 76-66 victory over Miami on Tuesday. Four players score in double figures for the Eagles, led by 16.3 points per game from Jalen Terry and Da'Sean Nelson. Christian Henry adds 14.3 points per contest and Jalin Billingsley is scoring 10.5 points per contest.
The last time Eastern Michigan won in DeKalb was on March 2, 2019. NIU has won seven of eight overall at home against the Eagles.
Following Saturday's game, the Huskies will head on the road as they travel to Oxford, Ohio, to take on Miami on Tuesday, Feb. 25.
