Four Huskies Named WGCA All-American Scholars

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla.—Four members of the Northern Illinois University Women's Golf program have earned All-American Scholars from the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) as announced Monday (June 30).
 
Caroline Kent (Frisco, Texas/iUniversity Prep) repeats as a second-time honoree for the Huskies while Emma Thorman (Macomb, Ill./Macomb) receives her third honor. Thorman's previous two honors came during her career at Illinois Wesleyan.
 
Mia Raines (Galena, Ohio/Olentangy Berlin) and Alexa Ouellet (Toronto, Ontario, Canada/De La Salle College) earn their first recognition.
 
The WGCA recognized 1,499 women's collegiate golfers from 403 programs recognized with this prestigious honor.
 
To qualify for this honor, a golfer must have a 3.50 cumulative grade point average or higher, be an amateur on the team's roster through conclusion of season and play in 50% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.
