DEKALB, Ill. – Northern Illinois University men's basketball head coach Matt Majkrzak announced the addition of Keller Hanson (Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice) to the Huskie program for the 2026-27 season. Hanson is the fifth signee announced for next season, with more additions to come.
"Keller is an extremely high-level shooter," said Majkrzak. "During his redshirt year at NMU we knew he had a chance to be one of the special players we've ever coached. At 6-foot-6, he can shoot off the move, off the ball screen, or deep on catch and shoots. He uses his size to block shots, grab rebounds, and make other big-time plays. He has played a lot of point guard in his career and uses that to be an excellent passer. We can't wait to continue being part of his development."
Hanson appeared in five games as a true freshman at Northern Michigan this past season, scoring 13 points while grabbing four rebounds. A two-time all-conference honoree at Sauk-Rapids-Rice High School, the 6-foot-6 Hanson scored 1,307 points in high school and helped lead Sauk-Rapids-Rice to a conference championship.
