AKRON, Ohio— Mia Raines (Galena, Ohio/Olentangy Berlin) led the Huskies with a tie for 16th as the Northern Illinois University women's golf team wrapped up play at the 2026 MAC Championships in Akron, Ohio.
Raines opened her round with a birdie on the second hole and made the turn at one under. She added another birdie on the par-5 17th and finished with a 72 to pace NIU in the final round.
"It was a great experience to compete at a renowned venue like Firestone Country Club," said NIU women's head coach
Kim Kester. "Despite some extremely challenging weather, our team fought hard and I'm proud of their effort. We're grateful for the five years Caroline has dedicated to our program, and as we close out the season, we're excited for what's ahead."
Alexa Ouellet (Toronto, Ontario, Canada/De La Salle College) and
Dakota Tallent (Las Vegas, Nevada/Bishop Gorman) each finished six over par in the third round.
Emile Chile (Flower Mound, Texas/Flower Mound) closed her debut season with three birdies, two on the front nine and another on the par-5 17th, as she carded a seven-over-par round.
Caroline Kent (Frisco, Texas/iUniversity Prep) competed in her final tournament as a Huskie, finishing 11-over on the day.
As a team, NIU placed seventh with rounds of 304, 298 and 301 for a 54-hole total of 903.
