CLEVELAND—Three members of the Northern Illinois University softball team have earned All-MAC honors ahead of the 2026 MAC Tournament.
Danielle Stewart (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) and
Madison Carlson (South Beloit, Ill./South Beloit) were named to the All-MAC First Team while
Izzi Hanna (Granger, Ind./Penn) earned All-MAC Second Team and All-Freshman Team honors.
Stewart joins Kayti Grable (2014–17) as the only Huskies in program history to earn All-MAC First Team honors in four consecutive seasons.
Hanna becomes the Huskies first All-Freshman Team honoree since
Alana Powell in 2024.
Stewart has powered the Huskies' offense this season, leading NIU with a .449 batting average and 57 hits. One of the top hitters in the nation, she has paced the team with 15 doubles and is tied for the lead with seven home runs. Stewart has scored 33 runs and has started all 41 games for the Huskies this year.
In the circle, Carlson has anchored the NIU pitching staff, posting a 2.66 ERA and an 11–1 record. She has thrown seven complete games, including one shutout, and recorded 69 strikeouts while holding opponents to a .238 batting average.
Hanna has made an immediate impact in her debut season, hitting .368 with 43 hits, 29 runs, and six stolen bases. She has started all 41 games for the Huskies, primarily in left field, and has totaled 70 putouts on the year.
The Huskies will begin action at the 2026 MAC Tournament on May 7 at 1:30 p.m. CT with action taking place at Firestone Stadium.
