DEKALB, Ill. – Five members of the Northern Illinois University women's track and field team have earned Academic All-Mid-American Conference honors for the 2026 outdoor season.
Emma Curry (Oakville, Ontario),
Stella Oyebode (Ilorin, Nigeria),
Jasmijn Raes (Amsterdam, Netherlands),
Samira Rosenfeld (Schaumburg, Ill.) and
Precious Umukoro (Villarreal, Spain) each received the conference academic award.
This is the second outdoor Academic All-MAC honor for Rosenfeld, a psychology major with a 3.266 grade point average. She competed at the MAC Championship in both the high jump and long jump.
Curry, Oyebode, Raes and Umukoro are all receiving outdoor Academic All-MAC honors for the first time.
Curry, a marketing major with a 3.902 GPA, competed at the conference championship in both the 800 meters and 4x400-meter relay. Oyebode represented NIU in the 100 meters and the 4x100-meter relay at the MAC Outdoor met, she has a 3.423 GPA while majoring in sport management. Raes finished ninth in the high jump at the MAC Outdoor Championship and has a 3.985 GPA, majoring in art. Umukoro, a mechatronics engineering major with a 3.926 GPA, was third in the triple jump at the MAC Outdoor Championship and qualified for the NCAA West First Round.
Each of NIU's five outdoor track and field Academic All-MAC honorees also received the recognition during the indoor season.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must be in their second year or later, have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
