Tom Keegan of Lawrence Journal World filed this story on Northern Illinois University head coach Dave Doeren. A native of Shawnee Mission, Kan., Doeren was the linebackers coach for Kansas from 2002-04 before being promoted to co-defensive coordinator. Doeren and the Huskies travel to Lawrence, Kan. Sept. 10 to face the Jayhawks.
