Northern Illinois University placekicker Mathew Sims was named a "Star of the Week" by the Lou Groza National Collegiate Place-Kicker Award. The sophomore from Hannibal, Mo. was a perfect four-for-four Saturday in NIU's 40-10 victory over Kent State. Sims connected on field goals of 31, 32, 44 and 34. I was his second consecutive four field goal performance and the first four-for-four day of his career. His 44-yarder ties a career high set earlier this season against Cal Poly. Sims is now 10-of-13 on the season in field goals and is 26-of-27 on PATs.
