On August 10th former Northern Illinois shortstop Bobby Stevens was called up to the Mississippi Braves, Atlanta's AA affiliate from the Advanced A Lynchburg Hillcats. Since his call up, Stevens has made nine appearances between the outfield and first base for the M-Braves, carrying a .182 batting average with four RBI and a double. He is errorless in his appearances in the field

In an extra innings thriller at Trustmark Park, the former Huskie got  the signal in the bottom of the 13th with the score tied, 1-1. Stevens made the most of his opportunity and with a runner on, he belted his first home run with the ball club to lead the Braves to a 3-1 victory, their fifth straight. It was the team's first walk-off since August 30, 2008 and the first pinch-hit walk-off since August 4, 2008.
