DeKALB – The Huskies return home to Illinois this weekend to compete at the Windon Memorial Classic hosted by Northwestern at the North Shore Country Club in Glenview, Illinois on September 25 and September 26. The course will play at 7,103 yards at par 72.
NIU, led by Charlie Cameron (+8), shot a 618 as a team to finish 13th last weekend at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate. Shooting a 308 and 310 on days one and two, respectively, the Huskies were consistent at Wolf Run. NIU finished a mere eight strokes from finishing in a tie for ninth place.

Accumulating six birdies over the weekend, Cameron finished in a tie for 37th with a score of 150 (+8). Salvador Rocha carded a 152 (+10) that landed him in a tie for 41st. Cameron and Rocha both shot a team low 74 on day two. Paul Schlimm contributed with a +16 finish tied for 61st.

Indiana, host of the Wolf Run Intercollegiate, will also be attending the Windon Memorial Classic this weekend. Other participants include No. 10 Florida, second place finisher at Wolf Run No. 32 Purdue, and DePaul. Runner up of the 2015 Mid-American Conference Championship and rival Eastern Michigan will compete at the Windon Classic as well.

The North Shore Country Club was originally built in 1917 with the course redesigned in 1983. The country club has a rich history and was responsible for hosting the 1933 U.S. Open and the 1939 and 1983 U.S. Amateur.

Most recently the club has played host to the PGA's Encompass Championship from 2013-2015. Golfers such as Fred Couples, a major champion, have competed in the Encompass Championship. North Shore Country Club is recognized by its thick rough and well-stocked bunkers that challenge golfers to stay in the fairway.
