DEKALB – The NIU men's golf team will play in their penultimate fall tournament as they'll head to Skokie, Ill. to play in the Windon Memorial Classic hosted by Northwestern on Sunday and Monday. The 54-hole tournament will see competitors play 36 holes on Sunday and 18 holes on Monday at the Evanston Golf Club.
The Huskies will have only their five team competitors play this week with the top four of
Joo-Young Lee (Hillard, Ohio/Xavier),
Thomas DeMarco (Lasalle, Ontario, Canada/Morehead State),
Jordan Less (Elmhurst, Ill./York) and
Salvador Rocha (Mexico City, Meixoc/American School Foundation) remaining constant through their first four tournaments. Returning to the lineup for the first time since Sept. 18 is
Matt Cholod (Courtice, Ontario, Canada/Morehead State) who has played in the lineup at the Inverness Intercollegiate and as an individual at the Northern Intercollegiate.
The field at the Windon will include Army, Columbia, Eastern Michigan, Princeton, UC Davis, Loyola (Chicago), Miami (Ohio), Marquette, Iowa, Penn State, Indiana, Iowa State and Wisconsin along with host Northwestern and NIU. The Huskies have played in tournaments against UC Davis, Miami (Ohio), Marquette, Iowa State and Wisconsin so far this season.
The Evanston Golf Club is a par 70 course with yardage of 6793 in Skokie in the Windon's 21
