DEKALB, Ill. – Fresh off three-straight home wins, and four consecutive victories overall, the Northern Illinois University men's basketball team heads back on the road on Tuesday night, February 4, when the Huskies travel to Toledo. Game time against the Rockets is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT and will be available on ESPN+.
The Huskies take a 13-9 overall record, including a 6-3 mark in Mid-American Conference play, to Toledo after topping Miami, 70-55, on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 1). The 6-3 league start for NIU is its best since the 2002-03 season, when the Huskies opened league play 10-3.

Eugene German (Gary, Ind./21st Century Charter) broke NIU's career scoring record against the RedHawks, scoring 21 points to pass T.J. Lux (1995-2000; 1,996 points) for the all-time mark. German now has 2,000 points in his Huskie career and is one of just nine active players in NCAA Division I to have reached the 2,000-point plateau.

Lacey James (Grand Rapids, Mich./Rider) recorded his ninth career double-double against Miami with 12 points and 10 rebounds while sophomore
Darius Beane added 13 points against the RedHawks.
Beane is averaging 10.2 points and 3.8 rebounds per game as a starter, he is shooting 46.3 percent (19-of-41) from the field during those five games, including 45.5 percent (5-of-11) from three. The Huskies are 4-1 since Beane moved into the starting lineup.
The Rockets have an 11-11 overall record, which includes a 3-6 mark in conference play and 6-4 record at home in Savage Arena. Toledo has lost three-straight, including a 61-57 decision at Eastern Michigan last time out (Feb. 1). Four players score in double figures for Toledo, led by 19.2 points per game from Marreon Jackson. Luke Knapke adds 15.9 points per contest, Willie Jackson averages a double-double with 11.5 points and 12.2 rebounds per game, and Spencer Littleson adds 10.8 points per contest.
NIU is 3-2 in its last five trips to Savage Arena, with all five games being decided by five points or less.
