DeKALB, IL – The Northern Illinois University women's basketball program announced on Wednesday it's 2020-21 Mid-American Conference schedule. The Huskies will play an expanded 20-game league slate beginning on Wednesday, December 30 against Ohio at the NIU Convocation Center.
 
NIU will be back on the Convocation Center floor two days into 2021 with a home matchup against Western Michigan. The Huskies then go on the road for four of the next five games starting with games at Kent State (Jan. 6) and Bowling Green (Jan. 9). After a home game against defending MAC regular-season champions Central Michigan on Jan. 13, NIU heads out to face Miami (Jan. 16) and Ball State (Jan. 20).
 
Three of the next four matchups on the slate are played in DeKalb starting with a Jan. 23 game against Kent State. The Huskies then go to Akron on Jan. 27 before hosting Miami on Jan. 30. NIU opens February by hosting Bowling Green (Feb. 3) before road games at Toledo (Feb. 6) and Eastern Michigan (Feb. 10). On Feb. 13, NIU hosts Buffalo then travels to Ohio for a Feb. 16 showdown.
 
NIU closes February with home games against Toledo (Feb. 20) and Ball State (Feb. 24) before a trip to Kalamazoo, Mich. to face Western Michigan on Feb. 27. As the calendar flips to March, the Huskies host Eastern Michigan on March 3 for the final home game of the regular season. The final game of the regular season comes at Central Michigan on March 6.
 
"We can't wait to get back on the court and compete," said head coach Lisa Carlsen. "Everyone knows how competitive the MAC is from top to bottom every night. With the top eight teams advancing to the conference tournament, each game is that much more important."
 
The Huskies' 2020-21 MAC schedule is tentative and subject to change. Women's basketball season tickets for the 2020-21 MAC season begin at just $28 for general admission seating up to $40 for reserved seats. Basketball season tickets will be on sale starting on Thursday morning at 9 a.m. Current season ticket members can renew their basketball season tickets by logging on to NIUHuskies.com/MyHuskies.
