A busy week awaits the NIU men's basketball team as the Huskies play three games in five days this week, beginning with a pair of road trips. NIU will visit Ball State on Tuesday night before making the trip to Akron on Thursday. After an overtime victory over Buffalo last Saturday at the Convocation Center, NIU travels to Kent State Wednesday night. The Huskies won the first meeting of the season 61-55 in DeKalb on Jan. 26. NIU hosts Western Michigan on Saturday for the "Cram the Convo" doubleheader. The Huskies are 7-3 on the home floor so far this season. Women's Track and Field
Friday, February 11: at EIU Friday Night Special, hosted by Eastern Illinois, 2 p.m.
The Huskie women's track and field team will compete in its final meet before the MAC Indoor Championships this Friday as the Huskies travel to Charleston, Ill., for the Eastern Illinois Friday Night Special. Competition is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. with field events, starting with the weight throw and long jump, events on the track will start at 3:30 p.n. with the prelims of the 60-meter hurdles. NIU is coming off a successful weekend at the GVSU Big Meet where the Huskies posted nine top-10 finishes, including in the long jump where
Jazmyn Smith finished second with the fourth-best mark in the MAC this season.
Men's Tennis

Saturday, February 19: vs. James Madison (at Youngstown State), 2 p.m.
The NIU men's tennis team will take its perfect 6-0 record to Youngstown, Ohio this weekend for a pair of matches. The Huskies will face the host Penguins on Friday, Feb. 18, before taking on James Madison in a neutral site contest on Saturday, Feb. 19. The trip to Ohio will be the first road trip of the season for NIU, as all six Huskie victories have come inside Chick Evans Field House.

Women's Tennis

The Huskies wrap up their six-match homestand at Chick Evans Fieldhouse Saturday with matches against Pacific and Cardinal Stritch. NIU went 2-1 last weekend with wins over Marquette and St. Francis (Ill.) to move to 5-3 on the dual match season.
Diana Lukyanova was 3-0 on the weekend, winning both her singles and doubles matches in NIU's win over Marquette last Friday and her singles match against DePaul last Sunday.
Wrestling

NIU Wrestling concludes its home slate this Sunday when it hosts SIUE and California Baptist for "Beauty and the Beast" at the Convocation Center with NIU Gymnastics. The Huskies will hold their Senior Day ceremony prior to the Cal Baptist dual. NIU made a late rally last Sunday in its dual at Northwestern but came up short 22-12.
Mason Kauffman earned a 5-4 victory over #23 Troy Fisher of Northwestern, avenging an earlier loss this season. A full preview of Sunday's action will be on NIUHuskies.com later this week.

Fresh off a split of back-to-back meets versus Illinois State last weekend, NIU (8-4, 1-1 MAC) plays host to Central Michigan, Western Michigan and Iowa State on Sunday, Feb. 20 in the Beauty and the Beast Quad Meet at 4 p.m. On Sunday, NIU earned its fifth-highest score all-time with a 195.950 in its win over Illinois State, scoring above 49 on three events. Morgan Hooper scored a season-best 39.000 while
Alyssa Al-Ashari's 9.925 on balance beam is the second highest on that event all-time. Both Central Michigan and Western Michigan are ahead of NIU in the MAC standings, while Iowa State is a perennial NCAA Regional team.
