DEKALB, Ill. – Thirty-one Northern Illinois University student-athletes, representing 12 sports, earned degrees at winter commencement.
 
The Huskie football team was the largest team represented among December graduates with 13, women's track and field had five graduates, women's soccer had three December graduates while baseball and wrestling had two each. Gymnastics, men's soccer, volleyball, women's basketball and women's golf, along with men's swimming which had a former student-athlete return and receive a degree, were also represented in winter commencement.
 
Among NIU's student-athlete graduates, 13 earned their degrees from the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, nine graduated from the College of Business, six obtained a degree from the College of Education, two are College of Health and Human Sciences graduates and one received a degree from the College of Engineering & Engineering Technology.
