DeKALB, Ill. – Theodora Kousiou and
Isabella Righi of the Northern Illinois University women's tennis team have been named to the 2026 CSC Academic All-District team, selected by College Sports Communicators to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for top performances both on the court and in the classroom.

Righi has earned the honor for the third consecutive year after posting a 3.907 GPA in biomedical engineering and combining for 20 wins this season. The outgoing senior ranks top 10 in both doubles and combined career victories in program history, helping the Huskies achieve 67 team wins since arriving as a freshman.
Kousiou was selected in her first year of eligibility and nearly doubled her number of victories from her freshman to sophomore season. Kousiou is majoring in kinesiology and has a GPA of 3.652. The sophomore upped her win total despite stepping up in competition, primarily playing at No. 2 singles this spring.
This season, NIU qualified for its second consecutive postseason tournament for the first time ever, posted a 17-9 record that included defeating a Power Four conference team in Missouri and won at least 15 matches for the third consecutive season.
