Women's Golf | April 18
DeKALB, Ill.—After finishing in the top-3 at the Mid-American Conference Championships in 2024, the Northern Illinois University women's golf team heads to Indiana for the 2025 Championship in Muncie, Indiana.
The 54-hole tournament will take place at the Delaware Country Club, a par-72, 6,053-yard course and run from April 20 through 22. Live scoring will be provided via Scoreboard powered by Clippd. After Monday's (April 21) second round and Tuesday's (April 22) third round, a highlights show will debut on ESPN+ at 8 p.m. recapping action from the course.
Alexa Ouellet (Toronto, Ontario, Canada/De La Salle College) has led the Huskies in six tournaments this season, averaging 75.8 strokes per round. Ouellet had a third-place finish at the BGSU Women's Intercollegiate tournament in February and claimed MAC Golfer of the Week honors following her finish.
Dakota Tallent (Las Vegas, Nevada/Bishop Gorman) led the Huskies in the clubhouse three times this season, with her highest finish coming at the Diane Thomason Invitational (Iowa) in the fall season. Tallent is averaging 77.4 strokes per round, with her lowest round coming at 72.
Caroline Kent (Frisco, Texas/iUniversity Prep) is one of three Huskies to record a round of 70 this season as she averaging 77.2 strokes per round. Kent's best finish, a tie for tenth, came during the BGSU tournament. Kent took 20th at the 2024 MAC Championships and was the third highest finish for NIU.
Mia Raines (Galena, Ohio/Olentangy Berlin) is averaging 78 strokes per round as she led the Huskies at the Augusta Valspar Invitational in March. Raines best round this season was a 71 during the second round of Illini Women's at Medinah in October.
Emma Thorman (Macomb, Ill/Macomb) has seen action in 11 tournaments and has the second-lowest average at 76.9 strokes per round. Thorman is the lone Huskie to card a 69 this season.
Jóhanna Lúðvíksdóttir (Reykjavik, Iceland/Commercial College of Iceland) averages 78.6 strokes per round and has a low score of 70.
NIU took third at the 2024 MAC Championships in Ohio and has not placed lower than third since the 2017 season.
