COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Kamiya Dendy (Anderson, S.C./Pendleton) of the Northern Illinois University women's track and field team concluded the 2025 season on Saturday (May 31) as she took part in the high jump at the NCAA West First Round.
The NIU senior was unable to record a height in the competition as she did not clear the bar at the opening height of 1.71 meters (5-07.25) in any of her three attempts.
"Kamiya's high jump competition at the NCAA West did not go as she wanted," said NIU Director of Track and Field
Connie Teaberry. "But she can definitely hang her athletic career on the shelf with pride. She has a story many are unaware of and to come out on the other side a competitor all year long says a lot about her determination and resilience. Her trust in the process, and in me as a coach and mentor, is what helped us get her where she is. Kamiya is a true Huskie for a lifetime."
Dendy concludes her NIU career having recorded the second-best outdoor high jump mark in program history, 1.79 meters (5-10.50), earlier this month as she became the first Huskie win the event at the MAC Outdoor Championships.
