Anthony Maddie scored his first rushing touchdown of the year, and first since 2014, when he broke free for a 75-yard score late in the first quarter. Maddie's run was the longest of his career and the longest of the season for the Huskies. His score was the longest run by a NIU player since Nov. 8, 2015 when
Jordan Huff scored on an 87-yard run versus Western Michigan.

*** Maddie recorded his first career 100-yard rushing game and became the first Huskie QB to throw for 100 yards and rush for 100 since Oct. 18, 2014 when
Drew Hare ran for 180 yards on 17 carries and passed for 185 on 12-of-16 passes versus Miami (Ohio).Â

Anthony Maddie completed 26 of 41 passes for 298 yards and two touchdowns Saturday in his first career start at quarterback at NIU. He ran for 160 yards on 14 carries and a 75-yard touchdown. As a back-up to
Drew Hare in the 2014 season, Maddie completed 20 of 33 passes for 227 yards and no touchdowns and ran 44 times for 201 yards and a score in nine games. He did not play last season due to a back injury.
***Maddie's 458 yards of total offense rank eighth at NIU all-time and are the most by a Huskie since Jordan Lynch had 468 versus Ball State in 2013.

Jordan Huff's 39-yard kickoff return in the fourth quarter was the longest by an NIU player this year.Â
***The Huskies' 653 yards of total offense were the team's most since the Miami (Ohio) game in October 2014 when NIU had 658.Â

Kenny Golladay recorded his third 100-yard receiving day of the season and sixth of his career with a career-high 13 catches for 184 yards in the game. Golladay scored on a 14-yard reception in the second quarter and on a 22-yard catch in the fourth for his seventh and eighth touchdowns of the season, and fifth and sixth receiving scores. He has at least one touchdown catch in four of the Huskies' five games this year.

***Golladay's 13 catches tied for the fourth most in a game by an NIU receiver and are the most since Sam Hurd caught 14 passes versus Akron on Sept. 24, 2005. The 184 receiving yard game ranks 14
th at NIU all-time and is the most since he had 213 receiving yards last year in the season opener versus UNLV.

Joel Bouagnon went over the 100-yard mark for the first time this season in the fourth quarter and finished the game with 153 yards on 21 carries, just three yards shy of his career high for rushing yards. The 100-yard game was the seventh of his career.

*** NIU had two players rush for 100 yards or more in a game for the first time since Oct. 24, 2015 when Bouagnon (138) and Huff (128) each went over the 100-yard mark.

***The NIU offense posted season highs in first downs (30), rushing yards (355), total yards (653), plays (87) and third down conversions (10 of 18). The Huskies' 30 first downs were the most since the Eastern Michigan game last year (10-24-15).Â

***The Huskies broke up seven passes in the game after coming into the contest with eight in its first four contests.Â
Shawun Lurry, Mayomi Olootu and
Jamaal Payton each had two knockdowns and Folliard added one. Â

Sean Folliard's 17 tackles were a career high for the senior and the most by a Huskie player since Tyrone Clark was credited with 17 sacks versus Army in 2012. Â He also recorded his first sack of the season.

***NIU collected a season high five sacks in the game. The Huskies came into the contest with just two sacks on the year. In addition to Folliard,
Josh Corcoran (2),
Mario Jones, and
Austin Smaha had the NIU sacks. Corcoran's sacks were the first of the sophomore's career.

Brandon Mayes stopped a Ball State drive in the red zone with his first interception of the year, the second of the season by the Huskies.Â

***NIU had a 100-yard rusher and a 100-yard receiver in the same game for the second consecutive game.

Christian Hagan's 41-yard field goal in the first quarter, NIU put points on the board in the first quarter for the first time in four games, since the 2016 season-opener at Wyoming. The Huskies have trailed 14-0 after the first quarter in each of its last three games.
