Eight NIU Track & Field Student Athletes Named to Academic All-MAC Team
Â
CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference released the Academic All-MAC team on Wednesday including eight of Northern Illinois University track & field student athletes.
Â
"The athletic department does not rest on just the athletic ability of our student athletes," said NIU Director of Track & Field
Connie Teaberry. "We have an obligation to make sure our athletes are progressing toward goals to become Champions in life as well. Our athletes understand the importance of preparing for life after athletics."
Â
The honor is given to student athletes who excel in both academics and athletics. To qualify, the student must record a 3.200 grade point average and have participated in at least half of the team's competitions for the season. Freshman and junior transfers are not eligible. Their dedication to both is unwavering, and the team celebrates their success. We thank them for their positive representation of Northern Illinois University, the DeKalb Community, and the track and field program. We expect them to continue on their path to academic excellence, and pleased that their academic achievements are being honored. These ladies are extremely deserving."
Â
