Women's Golf Begins Spring Season in Florida

DeKALB, Ill.—Starting the spring portion of their schedule, the Northern Illinois University Women's Golf team returns to action this weekend as they compete at the 2026 UCF Challenge, presented by PDI. Action will take place January 25-27 at the Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Florida.
 
The teams will compete with a shotgun start, teeing off at 8 a.m. CT on the Par-72 course. Live scoring will be provided by Scoreboard. 
 
The Huskies were last in action at the White Sands Bahamas tournament in October 2025, taking fifth as a team. Dakota Tallent (Las Vegas, Nev./Bishop Gorman) led NIU with a top-6 finish as she carded a 227 over three rounds. This fall, Tallent averaged 76.4 strokes per round.
 
Mia Raines (Galena, Ohio/Olentangy Berlin) led the Huskies at the Diane Thomason and Jim West Invites while Alexa Ouellet (Toronto, Ontario, Canada/De La Salle College) was the highest finishing Huskie at the Redbird Invitational in September.
 
Raines averaged 76.1 strokes per round and was one of three Huskies to card a 72 in the fall. Ouellet averaged 79.83 strokes per round and had a top 10 finish in the fall.
