Kim Kester is pleased to announce the additions of Alice Sjöberg and Emile Chile to the Huskie women's golf program for the 2025-26 season.
"We are very excited to welcome Emile and Alice to the Huskie golf family," said Kester. "They both have had a very impressive junior golf careers and we know that will continue here at NIU. Emile has played all over the USA for competition and Alice has a lot of world golf travel experience. Alice and Emile have shown a great competitive nature, on the course and in the classroom, that we cannot wait to add to the program."
Chile comes from Flower Mound, Texas and has competed for Flower Mound High School. Chile earned All-State honors her junior season as the team won districts that season. Chile won districts before finishing in fifth at state her junior year. Chile's senior season saw the Flower Mound Jaguars win district preview. Chile holds the school records for two-day total with 71 strokes on average and low round at Pecan Valley Hills.
Sjöberg will join the Huskies from Birgittaskolan High School in Särna, Sweden. Sjöberg was the first place medalist at the Linköping Junior Open and is a gold medalist in the Swedish Women's Team Championship. Sjöberg has claimed second place honors at the Östgöta Junior Open, third at the Magnus Jakobssons Memorial Tournament, and fourth place at the Vikingaskeppet Junior Masters Invitational.
The NIU Women's Golf team returns to action February 11-12 as they compete at the BGSU Women's Intercollegiate Invite in Litchfield Park, Arizona.
