Nathan Ramus signing

Men's Basketball

Huskies Add Nathan Ramus

DEKALB, Ill. – Northern Illinois University men's basketball head coach Matt Majkrzak announced the addition of Nathan Ramus (Appleton, Wis./Appleton North) to the Huskie men's basketball program. Ramus is the ninth signing for NIU for the 2026-27 season.

"Nathan is a throwback point guard that values winning and making the right decisions above all else," said Majkrzak. "He's also a bit of throwback in that he was a standout in three sports in high school. He's an elite defender that uses his volleyball jumping ability to block shots and rebound. On offense, he's another lefty that can score on three levels but also manipulates the defense to be a great passer. Above all else he's a winner that wins in everything he does."

Ramus earned honorable mention Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division I All-State recognition as he led Appleton North to the state semifinals for the first time in program history this past season. The 6-foot-2 Ramus averaged 12.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game as a senior, earning First Team All-Fox Valley Association honors. As a junior, Ramus 13.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game, earning all-conference honors from the Fox Valley Association.
