Original "Sultan of Slam" with unblockable, one-hand jumper. Blue collar, low-post presence. High profile at 6-9, 202 pounds with economy of game (averaging only 10.1 career FGAs per game). Graduated as No. 1 MAC and NIU career scorer (1,848 points). One of first ten male cagers in MAC history to amass four-digit totals in career points and rebounds (1,077). Tabbed in seventh round of NBA draft by Seattle Supersonics (June, 1982). Led Huskies to first NCAA Division I Tourney berth and MAC Postseason title (1981-82). Tied for NIU Player of Century. Named on All-Century (2000-01), All-Time Evans FH (1997), plus Player of Decade and All-Decade (1990) units. Selected HM AP All-America and HM Basketball Weekly All-Mideast as senior. Ranked 17th in NCAA boardwork (11.1 rbpg.) on Mid-Am regular-season champs as junior. Three-time First-Team All-MAC, All-MAC Tourney, and team MVP (1979-82). Voted Mid-Am Tourney MVP and averaged 15.3 ppg. and 9.0 rbpg. as senior co-captain. Selected loop's initial MAC Frosh of Year (1978-79). Won three career MAC POW awards. Led league in FG pct. (NIU-record .575) as senior. Cited as MAC Scholar-Athlete (1981-82). Finished with at least 16 (then) NIU records career points, rebounds, FG pct. (.556) FTs (568), FTAs (730), blocked shots (199), point-rebound "double doubles" (57), and starts (103). Hit career-high 37 points vs. Toledo (Feb. 4, 1981). Played for CBA Rockford Lightning (1986-87). Inducted into IBCA HOF (2004). All-Stater on 27-3 Class A Elite Eight unit at Dakota High (1978-79). Nicknamed "Horn."
