College Division Northern Illinois links star and long-time Senior golf performer. Enshrined into NIU Golf Hall of Fame (September, 1993). Regular on Huskie squads that finished as Interstate Intercollegiate Athletic Association team runner-ups for four consecutive springs (1955-58). Made collegiate debut with (then) school-record 33-34?67 round vs. Ilinois-Chicago (April 16, 1955). Led Northern Illinois with a 74.1 medal average and 8-1-1 match play record as true freshman (1954-55). Produced perfect 13-0-0 ledger in match play and topped Huskies with 75.8 strokes-per-round average as soph (1955-56). Placed 10th overall with 156 total in IIAC Championships and wound up 13th at 158 in Greenbriar Tournament, plus beat Wisconsin twice, 2-1, and, 3-0, in match play as junior (1956-57). Averaged 75.9 strokes as senior second on team and finished No. 2 in IIAC Championships with one-over-par 141 card (1957-58). Placed second in Chick Evans Amateur (1959). Began teaching/ coaching career at Burlington Central High School. Shot 71 to win Illinois Senior Open at Barrington Hills (1987) and qualified for Midwest Senior Open at Brooklawn Country Club in Bridgeport, CT (1987). Carded 68 at Balmoral Woods in Midwest Senior Open qualifications (1991). Qualified for United States Senior Amateur (1992). Won Kishwaukee Country Club title 12 times and Lincoln Highway meet crown three times. Lettered in basketball and golf at DeKalb High. Served as director of DeKalb County Housing Authority for 25 years.
