(Charter Member). Mr. Northern Illinois Basketball in 1930s. Remembered for deadly accurate two-handed set shot, quick first step, overall speed, and strong drives to basket. Rare one-sport all-star in era of multiple-sport student-athletes. Recognized on Northern Illinois All-Century Team during cage Centennial (2000-01). One of first Huskies in any sport named All-Little 19 Conference four consecutive times. Starred at forward at 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds. Two-time NIU Athletics Hall of Famer. Played on one of greatest quintets in Northern Illinois history?the HOF 15-2 Little 19 championship club that appeared in precursor to NCAA Tournament and participated in exhibitions vs. Kansas and vs. Pittsburgh to demonstrate various styles of play and proposed rules changes at National Association of Basketball Coaches Convention in Atlanta, GA (1933-34). Led Huskies in scoring and earned Second-Team All-Little 19 accolades as junior for coach George "Chick" Evans. Served as team co-captain, ranked No. 2 in league scoring (120 points), and won First-Team Little 19 honors as senior. Made impact as frosh by making First-Team All-Little 19 and winning Most Valuable Player and all-tourney awards on Illinois State Teachers College Tournament title unit (1931-32). Gained Second-Team All-Little 19 status as sophomore on 15-3 loop and Illinois State Teachers College Tournament kingpins (1932-33). Standout cager at Elburn (IL) Community High. Coached at Riverside-Brookfield and Streator high schools. Spent 25 years at SHS (Deceased).
