Most "slamboyant" small forward in Huskie annals. One-man Phi Slamma Jamma. ESPN's DIck Vitale: "A dunking machine." CBS-TV's Brent Musburger: "The King of the 360s." Exploded into major-college ranks with game-high 22 points vs. DePaul (November 24, 1984). Became youngest Northern Illinois and MAC player to amass 1,000 career points (50 games). Led NCAA Division I frosh in scoring (20.1 ppg. in 1984-85). Set MAC and school single-season frosh scoring records (544 points). Finished No. 4 on state's all-time frosh point list. Named Second-Team All-MAC, Mid-Am Frosh of Year, All-River City Tournament, and on 10 All-America units (1984-85). Won unanimous First-Team All-MAC, NABC First-Team All-District Four, NABC National Dunker of Year, plus Honorable Mention AP and Sporting News All-America honors (1985-86). Played on Gold Medal North squad at National Sports Festival (1985). Voted on NIU All-Decade, All-Time Evans Field House, and All-Century units. Ranked among Huskie career leaders in FG percentage (.548), steals (127), scoring average (19.9 ppg.), and points (1,072). Holds Northern Illinois game (6), season (48), and career (93) dunk records. Two-time Huskie MVP. Transferred to Illinois. Drafted in first round by NBA Detroit Pistons (1989). Participated in NABC (1989) and NBA (1990) Slam Dunk Contests. Played for NBA Phoenix, Denver, Utah, Boston, Golden State (1989-93). Inducted into IBCA Hall of Fame (1996). Voted on IHSA "100 Legends" (2007). Prep All-America at Aurora West.
