One of longest tenured trainers in National Football League. Promoted to vice president of medical services by NFL Baltimore Ravens (2005). Called "...a dedicated, tireless worker, and a very valuable member of our organization" by long-time NFL magnate and Cleveland Browns-Ravens owner Art Modell. Began 12th season as certified Head Athletic Trainer with Baltimore (1996-2007), 24th year overall as NFL head trainer (1984-2007), and 34th year in league (1973-2007). Well-respected by peers as long list of awards demonstrate. Named recipient of Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer Award (1998) and 25-Year Award from National Athletic Trainers Association. Headed NFL's Athletic Training Staff of Year (1989), according to Professional Football Athletic Trainers Society. Inducted into Ohio Athletic Trainers Association Hall of Fame (1999). Selected Clinical/Professional Athletic Trainer of Year (1989) by OATA. Recipient of Pro Recognition Award from Cleveland Touchdown Club (1992) and Humanitarian Award from Akron Browns Backers (1993). Served as treasurer on executive board of Professional Football Athletic Trainers Society (1987-97), president of Great Lakes Athletic Trainers Association (1990-94), and member of NFL Injury and Safety Committee. Helped establish Ravens' training facility site (1996). Affiliated with NATA, PFATS, OATA, Maryland Athletic Trainers Association, and American College of Sports Medicine. Protege of Northern Illinois Hall of Fame trainer Al Kranz. Student trainer at Luther North and NIU.
