(Charter Member). Legend as student-athlete, coach, and contributor. Member of four Halls of Fame. Pioneer in women's athletics as multi-sport performer at NIU, head coach at Illinois State, and early official. Believed to have competed in most sports in Huskie history?male or female. Played six?(1) badminton, (2) basketball, (3) field hockey, (4) softball, (5) tennis, and (6) volleyball (1957-61). Averaged 23.5 ppg. as senior and 16.5 ppg. for career on hardwood. Served terms as vice-president and treasurer of Women's Recreation Association, the NIU sports organization created by Hall of Famer Mary Bell and that offered extramural competition for females prior to institutional participation in state AIAW in early 1970s and NCAA Division I level in 1982-83. Enshrined into ISU Athletics Hall of Fame (1981) as badminton, softball, and tennis coach. Worked on ISU staff in health, physical education, and recreation for 30 years (1966-96). Guided Redbird badminton squads to fifth (1973) and fourth (1974) place finishes in AIAW nationals. First woman inducted into Bloomington-Normal Officials Associaton Hall of Fame (1984) and entered Illinois Girls Coaches Association HOF (1985). Recipient of Distinguished Contribution Award from National Federation of Interscholastic Officials Association (1995). Officiated at IHSA and AIAW level. Umpired first IHSA girls tennis finals (1972) and worked 30 other state meets. Coached at West Leyden High (1963-65). Prepped at Elmwood Park High.
