Ace on mound and in classroom. Master of the plus 60 m.p.h. riseball. Posted 68-31 career record, 334 strikeouts, 31 shutouts, 0.98 ERA, and 92 starts in 113 Northern Illinois appearances (1986-89). Compiled 24-6 mark with 0.58 ERA and 96 strikeouts in 31 games on 35-11 Hall of Fame squad that tied for seventh in NCAA College World Series (1988). Ranked nationally in NCAA stats?No. 3 in saves (three in 1989), No. 8 in ERA (0.57 in 1989), and No. 12 in ERA (0.58 in 1988). Went 45-9 (.833 winning pct.) with 21 shutouts in final two Huskie springs. Three-time College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-America (Third-Team in 1987 and 1989, plus First-Team with 3.52 cumulative gpa in 1988). Selected in first Women's Professional Fastpitch draft (1995). Played on WPF Tour?led summer exhibition series in W-L record (6-1), ERA (0.93), and innings pitched (43 1/3) on 10-6 Blaze team, threw first complete game shutout (five-hitter vs. Storm in Beloit, WI) in WPF history, and appeared on ESPN (1995). Performed on Gold Medal team at National Sports Festival (1989), USA Select Team at Haarlem Cup in The Netherlands (1993), and at U. S. Olympic Trials (1994). Named CoSIDA District Five All-Academic (1987-89), Second-Team All-Midwest Region (1988-89), First-Team All-North Star Conference (1988-89), NSC Academic Honor Roll (1988-89), and NSC Defensive MVP (1989). Graduated with seven NIU records. Played pro ball in New Zealand (1990-91). Area Player of Year at Wheaton Central High (1985).
