The ultimate student-athlete. All-America on field and in classroom. "Three-peat" CoSIDA Academic All-America selection (1993-95). One of only six three-time CoSIDA Academic All-Americas in Northern Illinois athletics history (2007). "Typical Midwestern kid with an off-the-chart work ethic," said former Huskie softball coach and two-time Hall of Fame inductee Donna Martin. Selected Second-Team CoSIDA Academic All-America (1993-94) and Third-Team Academic All-America (1995), plus repeated First-Team CoSIDA Academic All-District V accolades three times (1993-1995). Put together best season as a soph- finishing No. 2 in team batting average (.355). Making First-Team All-Mid-Continent Conference Academic, First-Team National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Midwest Region and Third-Team NFCA All-America under then coach Dee Abrahamson (1993). Batted .308 and earned team Christopher Thomas Friedel Memorial Award (most dedicated athlete), First-Team All-Mid-Continent, First-Team All-Mid-Con Tournament, and Second-Team NFCA All-Great Lakes Region (1994). Voted team co-captain and Defensive MVP at first base with .990 fielding pct. (four errors in 418 chances) as senior (1995). Produced .301 career batting average and .985 fielding pct. (1992-195). Ranked in three Top Five career school stats lists. Honored as Victory Scholar (3.50 cumulative gpa) four straight years in NIU Academic Excellence Program and made Dean's List six consecutive semesters. Two-sport standout at Rock Island Alleman High.
