No. 1 jersey fit in more ways than one. One of greatest clutch PKs in Northern Illinois history. Honored on All-Time Huskie Stadium (1995) and All-Century (1999) units. Won free agent tryouts with NFL Buffalo Bills and USFL Orlando Renegades (1984-85). Graduated with eight Huskie records and two Mid-Am marks. Held major Northern Illinois kick-scoring precedents?including most (1) single-game points (18 vs. Ohio in 1982), (2) single-game field goals (five vs. Ohio in 1982), (3) single-season field goals (17 in 1983), (4) career points (192 in 1980-83), (5) career field goals (41 in 1980-83), and (6) consecutive career PAT kicks (42 in 1980-83). Owns two of longest field goals in NIU history (51 yards vs. Toledo in 1983 and 48 yards vs. Kent State in 1982). Selected Honorable Mention AP All-America and First-Team All-MAC on 10-2 league and California Bowl champion, plus Hall of Fame squad (1983). Named MAC Player of Week vs. Ohio (1982) and vs. Toledo (1983). Finished No. 8 in NCAA Division 1-A field goals (1.30 per game in 1982). Tied for No. 15 in NCAA field goals (1.55 pg.) and No. 21 in NCAA scoring (80 points) (1983). Voted First-Team All-MAC Academic (1981) and Honorable Mention All-MAC (1982). Contributed eight points (39 and 42-yard FGs and two PATs) in 20-13 triumph vs. Cal State Fullerton in California Bowl (1983). Kicked 26-yard FG with 0:08 left to beat Kansas, 37-34, for NIU's first grid win vs. Big Eight (12) (1983). Added 14 points in 26-10 MAC title-clincher vs. Toledo (1983). DeKalb High product.
