Consummate old-school inside-outside threat. The last mega-scorer of the (pre-Chick Evans Field House) Still Gym era. First Northern Illinois performer male or female to reach 1,000-point career point plateau. Selected on All-Century squad as Top 20 vote-getter (1998). Ranks in seven all-time Huskie stats categories years after completion of career (1) single-game field goals (21), (2) back-to-back game scoring (76 points), (3) junior year scoring (21.9 ppg. in 1955-56), (4) single-game points (46 vs. Eastern Michigan in 1955-56), (5) single-season scoring average (21.9 ppg.), (6) career scoring average (17.8 ppg.), and (7) career points (1,137 in 1953-57). Named First-Team All-IIAC as junior and senior. Voted Northern Illinois MVP twice (1955-57). Served as Huskie captain as senior. Led team in scoring and rebounding in last two seasons. Set (then) school and IIAC single-game record with 46 points (21 baskets and four free throws) vs. Eastern Michigan (February 25, 1956). Graduated with seven Northern Illinois records?(1) single-game points, (2) single-game field goals, (3) single-season points (417 in 1955-56), (4) single-season scoring average, (5) single-season field goals (168), (6) career points, and (7) career scoring average. Produced 55 double-digit scoring games (22 times in 20s and six in 30s) during 64-game Huskie career. Played on Lettuce Entertain You Senior Basketball team which won medals at Senior Masters Tournament and Senior Olympics. All-Section at Chicago Hyde Park (1952-53).
